Gujarat got 176 fresh Coronavirus cases taking the total count to 1,272 according to the health department official.  Ahmedabad alone account for 142 cases of COVID-19, taking the city’s number to 765, said Principal Secretary (Health), Jayanti Ravi said.

Surat and Vadodara report 13 fresh cases each, while Rajkot and Bhavnagar reported two cases each, and Anand, Bharuch, and Panchmahal reported one case each.

The cases in Ahmedabad are reported from COVID-19 hotspot areas. A few other cases are from areas that are under intense surveillance. At the same time two patients are discharged from Rajkot and Gandhinagar, bringing the count of the total number of recovered persons to 88, said Ravi.
