The first coronavirus positive person in India, the student from Thrissur in Kerala, has now reportedly recovered and tested negative for the presence of the virus in his body. The patient, who is a student of Wuhan University, China and were among the first to return to India soon after the virus outbreak there.
The repeated test of the samples at National Institute of Virology (NIV) unit in Kerala inferred this result. However, the results from NIV, Pune is still awaited. On January 30, this student was tested positive.So far three cases of the virus are confirmed from India. Thousands, who bears travel history from China and other affected countries are still under observation.
Meanwhile, Chinese health officials said on Monday, the death toll in China has soared to 908 and the number of confirmed cases rose over 40,000. Singularly, on Sunday, there were 97 deaths and 3,062 new confirmed cases of the fatal infection according to China's National Health Commission said.
Meanwhile,according to Reuters report:An advance team of World Health Organization medical experts arrived in China on Monday to help investigate the coronavirus outbreak, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.
Tedros, who met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing last month, returned with an agreement on sending an international mission. It took nearly two weeks to get the green light from the Chinese government on the team, led by Canadian emergency expert Dr. Bruce Aylward.
