The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking- 26 th June 2021

Drug abuse and addiction is a major concern in youth. The youth should be prepared beforehand about drug addiction. On this International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking let us take a pledge and say “NO” to drugs.

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking falls on 26 th June 2021. It is celebrated every year on 26 th June to educate people about the drug's ill effects which cause a negative impact on the body. This International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was established in the year 1987 by the United Nations. The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is marked on June 26 th to express the international community’s determination to combat drug abuse and completely eradicate drugs from society for better health. 

Drug use disorders are preventable and treatable 

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is given importance so that everyone understands the ill effects of the drugs. Saying “NO” to drugs is completely our choice and it should be taken into consideration before we fall prey to any ill effects of the drugs. The activities on this International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking promote the social and overall wellbeing of an individual by giving importance to quitting drugs. Many people reach out to the general public to create a drug-free environment.

Let’s not forget that this year 2020-2021, we have given more importance to the pandemic and fight against the coronavirus. Let us not forget the importance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which may get overshadowed in our indulgence in taking vaccines. It is important to focus on the topic of drug abuse which will help millions of youngsters fight against it. 

Life doesn't rewind: Say “No” to drugs today 

You are a better judge when it comes to your life. One needs to make sure that one makes the right choices in life. Our life's a rollercoaster ride. There may be situations that can be difficult to deal with at times. There are higher chances that you might fall prey to addiction at some point in life. You need to make sure that you take all the necessary precautions against drug abuse. The children, youngsters, adults, parents, and teachers should be taught about the values of life. Sometimes when we go through a transition of adulthood, there are higher chances that we might fall prey to addictions. 

Youth must be educated about the use of drugs 

The youth is the future generation and must be educated about the consequences of the ill effects of drugs which is a must. Many times, youngsters might fall prey to drugs that can be difficult to deal with. They might just slip into drug addiction unknowingly. We need to make sure that the youth of the country are future-ready about drug addiction. There can be various stressors in life that can cause drug addiction. Universal Drug Prevention programs must are propagated into the life of the youth. These programs can help deal with the stressors. Let us commit and take a pledge this year on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to stay away from drugs and avoid it completely for healthy well-being and future
