10th AMMO Conference Concludes With Record Success, Marking A New Chapter In Maharashtra’s Oncology Advancements

HCG Manavata Cancer Centre Hosts Landmark Gathering Of Over 100 Oncology Experts To Shape The Future Of Cancer Care

Nashik, Oct 16: The 10th Annual Conference of the Association of Maharashtra Medical Oncologists (AMMO), hosted at the HCG Manavata Cancer Centre (HCGMCC) on October 4 & 5, 2025, concluded as the most successful edition in its decade-long history. Bringing together over 130 distinguished faculty members, including leading medical oncologists and experts from various oncology specializations across Maharashtra, the conference set new benchmarks in collaborative oncology education, innovation and patient-centric dialogue.

“The 10th AMMO Conference was not just a meeting of minds, but a convergence of hearts dedicated to conquering cancer. The unprecedented participation and quality of discussions reflect our collective resolve to bridge innovation with implementation, especially beyond metropolitan hubs. This conference reinforces that Maharashtra’s oncologists are pioneering a new era of accessible, advanced cancer care,” says Prof. Dr. Raj Nagarkar, Chief of Surgical Oncology & Robotic Services and Managing Director - KIMS Manavata Hospitals, HCG Manavata Cancer Centre, and Six Sigma, Nashik.

This landmark scientific event featured a strong line-up of expert-led sessions on critical themes, facilitating intense scientific discourse on cutting-edge topics including CAR-T cell therapy, AI-driven precision oncology, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), immunotherapy advancements and their outcomes in various malignancies, and novel treatment sequencing in metastatic cancers. Overall, the conference featured in-depth discussions on major cancer types, including breast, head & neck, lung, cervical, and colorectal cancers, focusing on the latest treatment strategies and therapeutic advances for these prevalent diseases.

The conference also featured some insightful sessions on exploring the evolving landscape of cancer care in India. Discussions on living wills and advanced care planning emphasized the growing importance of patient autonomy and ethical decision-making. Experts reflected on how cancer treatment paradigms have transformed over the past three decades, improving outcomes and quality of life. The dialogue on extending cancer care beyond urban centres shed light on access gaps in rural Maharashtra, while the session on oncofertility highlighted the importance of reproductive health and survivorship in young cancer patients. A special session led by Dr. Raj Nagarkar highlighted the growing importance of immunofluorescence in enhancing precision and outcomes in surgical oncology. Together, these sessions underscored the need for equity, empathy, and innovation in oncology practice.
