1st Day Care Centre for construction workers opened at a Construction site in the city

This daycare center enables both parents to work. It is 8th in the series. COWE and SIDBI together will be setting up 12 more now.

Hyderabad, December 21, 2023…. COWE(Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of India), SIDBI( an apex regulatory body of Govt of India), and My Home(a well-known builder)  launched the 8th AVEKSHA child daycare and the 1st for the benefit of children of construction workers.  It has come up at My Home Nishada construction site at Kokapet in the city.

 

The 7 Aveksha centres which have come up in various places in the city are meant for industrial workers.  This is the first one for construction workers informed COWE in a press note issued in the city today.

 

Sixty students are taken care of at this centre. These are children of migrant construction workers from Bihar, Orissa and West Bengal. While their parents work on the construction of 1400 residential flats, these children are taken care of by the Aveksha Day Care Center. 

 

The centre was formally inaugurated by Mr Jupally Ramu Rao, Executive Vice Chairman, My Home Constructions Pvt Ltd.  Mr Himanshu Asthana, Regional Manager, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). It was inaugurated on Wednesday late evening.

 

Aveksha, which means ‘To Take Care Of’ is a daycare facility meant for children of women workers in the industrial sector/construction sector or for other underprivileged sections of society.  

 

Supported by SIDBI towards operation costs and private corporates or industrial associations support towards infrastructure costs.

 

COWE has successfully launched 7 Aveksha day-care centres in the industrial Areas of Jeedimetla, Cherlapally, Uppal, Moulali, Pashamailaram, and Genome Valley in the last 2 years.

 

Speaking on the occasion Jupally Ramu Rao, Executive Vice Chairman, My Home Constructions Pvt Ltd said My Home is very sensitive to the well-being of their workforce.  It is a great initiative.  All our projects are mega.  And we will associate with COWE in all our future construction for a daycare centre.  Let us be partners in each other’s progress he said.  This is the 1st such crèche facility for children of construction workers.

 

The holistic welfare of the industrial workers is very important said Mr Himanshu Asthana, Regional Manager, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). It is a great initiative and goes a long way in ensuring women's empowerment, he added.

 

With the Partnership of SIDBI, COWE will be setting up 20 daycare centres across the Telangana state, shared by Uma Gurkha and Madhu Tyagi of COWE (Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of India)

 

The centres are equipped with CCTV to monitor day-to-day activities and necessary amenities have been provided to create a joyful learning environment that encourages the toddlers to enjoy their stay throughout the day.

 

Each of the day-care centres is spread over an area of 800 to 1000 sqft. They are fully equipped to take care of 20-30 children from 9 am to 6 pm. Each centre will have three staff members -a Care Taker, Aayamma and a security guard. A vigilance team, trainers and auditors ensure best standards are maintained. All the standard protocols will be maintained for smooth operations of the centre.

 

Aveksha is a National Project by COWE & SIDBI, and the vision is to take it across the country
