Pioneering Precision Medicine for Accurate Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Planning.

Nagpur, 21st Jan 2025: American Oncology Institute (AOI) in collaboration with Nangia Specialty Hospital in Nagpur, is proud to announce the acquisition of a state-of-the-art Gallium generator. This cutting-edge technology marks a new chapter in precision medicine, enabling AOI Nagpur to offer advanced Gallium-based PET CT scan services for detecting cancer at a molecular level. Starting January 2025, the Nuclear Medicine department will provide highly specialized Gallium-labelled PET CT scans, enhancing the accuracy of cancer detection, staging, and treatment planning.

These services include specialized options tailored to various cancer types. The PSMA PET CT scan is designed for prostate cancer detection, while the DOTA PET CT scan aids in identifying neuroendocrine tumours (rare growths that develop in hormone-producing cells). The FAPI PET CT scan is ideal for detecting cancers with mucinous, serous, or signet ring cell histology, such as stomach and ovarian cancers. Additionally, the Pentixafor PET CT scan is used to diagnose low-grade lymphoma, MALToma, and multiple myeloma, and the Exendin PET CT scan focuses on detecting insulinoma.

Speaking on this achievement, Harish Trivedi, CEO, CTSI-South Asia, remarked, “The introduction of Gallium PET CT scans at AOI Nagpur highlights our commitment to leveraging the latest technologies in Cancer Care. By integrating precision medicine into our diagnostics, we are transforming how cancer is detected and treated, ensuring better outcomes for our patients.”

Dr Rohit Kakde, Senior Consultant in Nuclear Medicine, AOI Nagpur shared the significance of this development, “Gallium-based PET CT scans enable us to detect cancer at its earliest stages by visualizing it at a molecular level. This ensures not only accurate diagnosis, but also precise treatment planning tailored to each patient’s needs.”

Dr Hrushikesh Phate, Zonal Director, Central East Region, AOI Nagpur, added, “With the addition of Gallium generator technology, AOI Nagpur is now equipped to deliver the most advanced diagnostic services available globally. This initiative represents a major milestone in our mission to provide world-class oncology care in Central India.”

Dr Amit Dhawan, Regional Chief Operating Officer, AOI Nagpur, emphasized, “At AOI, we believe in a patient-centric approach to care. These advanced PET CT scans not only improve diagnostic accuracy but also empower our oncologists to craft personalized treatment strategies for every patient.”

The advanced Gallium PET CT scan services highlight AOI Nagpur’s dedication to staying at the forefront of innovation in oncology care. With these specialized diagnostic tools, AOI is poised to set new benchmarks in cancer treatment across the region.
