Bengaluru, July 01, 2026: Happiest Health today hosted ‘Ayurveda & Gut’ at the Happiest Ayurveda Clinic in Jayanagar, bringing together leading experts in Ayurveda, microbiome research and integrative health to explore the critical role of gut health in overall wellbeing. The event convened health enthusiasts, wellness practitioners and healthcare professionals for an engaging discussion on how ancient Ayurvedic principles and modern microbiome science can work together to support preventive health and healthy ageing.

The panel featured Dr. M.S. Mahadevan, Director, Happiest Ayurveda; Dr. Yogesh Shouche, Director, SKAN RT; and Dr. Subrahmanya Kumar K, Associate Professor, The University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU), and was moderated by Sharon S. Rajkumar, Vice President, Happiness Evangelist & Talent Development (Medical) and Chief Success Manager – Wellness Practices.

The discussion highlighted the growing body of evidence linking gut health to immunity, metabolic health, mental wellbeing and chronic disease prevention. Experts explored the similarities between Ayurvedic concepts of digestive health and emerging scientific understanding of the gut microbiome, while also sharing practical recommendations on nutrition, lifestyle and daily habits that support a healthy gut.

Participants also interacted with experts from Happiest Ayurveda and Happiest Physio, gaining insights into how posture, movement, digestion and lifestyle choices influence overall health and wellbeing.

Dr. M.S. Mahadevan, Medical Director, Happiest Ayurveda, said, "Good health begins with a healthy digestive system. When digestion functions efficiently, it supports metabolism, immunity, hormonal balance and overall wellbeing. Traditional Indian dietary practices including fibre-rich foods, fermented preparations, spices and mindful eating habits continue to offer valuable insights that modern science is increasingly recognising as important for long-term health.”

Dr. Yogesh Shouche, Director, SKAN Research Trust, said, “Research continues to strengthen our understanding of the gut microbiome and its influence on health. While many discoveries have already transformed the field, there is still much to learn about how diet, lifestyle and traditional health practices shape the microbial ecosystem. Building scientific evidence around these connections will help develop more personalised and effective approaches to preventive healthcare."

Dr. Subrahmanya Kumar, Associate Professor, The University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU), said, “Better health is often built through simple, consistent lifestyle practices. Small changes in daily habits, including paying attention to when we eat, can make a meaningful difference to overall wellbeing. Over the past two decades, scientific research has increasingly explored these connections, creating opportunities to combine traditional knowledge with modern evidence to support better preventive healthcare."

The event reflects Happiest Health's commitment to fostering informed conversations around health, wellness and longevity, while creating platforms that bridge scientific evidence with practical, actionable solutions for everyday living.
