New Delhi, 2nd September 2025: In celebration of National Nutrition Week, Bayer’s Consumer Health Division proudly announces its strategic entry into the prenatal nutrition segment with the launch of Supradyn Mom’s and Supradyn Naturals Calcium+, under its trusted multivitamin brand Supradyn®. This comprehensive range is designed to address the critical nutritional deficiencies faced by women in India during preconception, pregnancy, and lactation.

India faces a severe public health issue with widespread nutritional deficiencies among women. Nearly 60% are anaemic and over 70% suffer from calcium deficiency, a critical issue that directly impacts maternal and child health.[1]. The economic impact is equally staggering, with IDA (iron deficiency anaemia) contributing to losses of up to 1.18% of India's GDP.

The nutritional demands during pregnancy increase manifolds, with iron requirements rising from 4-6 mg/day in early pregnancy to 10 mg/day during the final weeks. Calcium needs also nearly double to support foetal bone growth and prevent complications like preeclampsia, low birth weight, and maternal bone loss.

With India welcoming 23 million newborns annually, the scale of this nutritional crisis is unprecedented[2]. Deficiencies during pregnancy can lead to long-term consequences, including undernourished mothersstunted children, and a perpetuation of the intergenerational cycle of malnutrition.

Bayer’s new prenatal line aims to bridge these gaps with science-backed, holistic supplementation.

  • Supradyn Mom’s: A comprehensive prenatal supplement with iron, folic acid, vitamin B6, B12, copper, and zinc, going beyond traditional IFA (Iron-Folic Acid) to deliver IFA+ - a more complete solution for maternal nutrition.
  • Supradyn Naturals Calcium+: A balanced blend of calcium, vitamin D2, and magnesium, essential for fetal bone development and maternal bone health.

These products align with national priorities such as Mission Poshan 2.0, reinforcing Bayer’s commitment to improving maternal and child health outcomes through science-backed, holistic supplementation..

Mr.  Sandeep Verma, Cluster Head, South Asia - Bayer Consumer Health, said, “India is at a pivotal point in its development journey. Ensuring the health of mothers and future generations is essential to our nation’s progress. With Supradyn’s new prenatal range, Bayer reaffirms its commitment to providing affordable, science-proven solutions that empower women to take charge of their health and give their children the best possible start in life.”

Supradyn Mom’s and Supradyn Naturals Calcium+ are now available at chemist stores and online pharmacies pan-India, including metros and Tier 1 & 2 towns.
