According to Dr Raches Ella, Business Development and International Advocacy Head at Bharat Biotech, the firm may begin pediatric trials of its Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin from June. Dr Ella said the company expected WHO’s approval for Covaxin by the end of the third or fourth quarter.

Coronavirus in India May 24, 2021: India registered over 2.40 lakh fresh cases on Sunday, with the active caseload now standing at less than 30 lakh. The country tested over 20 lakh samples for Covid-19 for sixth consecutive day. Daily recoveries continue to outnumber daily infections in India.

Several states and UTS, including, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Puducherry, have extended lockdown and ‘corona curfews’ to further control the spread of the virus.
