CARE Hospitals, in collaboration with the Association for Occupational Health (AOH – Telangana & AP) an affiliated branch of IAOH, successfully organized “OCCUMED”, as a part of National Occupational Health Day Celebrations 2025.
Hyderabad, 27th July, 2025: CARE Hospitals, in collaboration with the Association for Occupational Health (AOH – Telangana & AP) an affiliated branch of IAOH, successfully organized “OCCUMED”, as a part of National Occupational Health Day Celebrations 2025. The event focused on advancing occupational health and corporate well-being. Held at Hotel Marigold, Hyderabad, the event brought together leading occupational health experts, corporate physicians, and healthcare leaders to promote dialogue on emerging workplace health challenges, preventive strategies, and the integration of occupational health practices with modern corporate clinical expertise.
 
The program was graced by Dr. Gaddam Vivek Venkat Swamy, Hon’ble Minister of Labour, Employment, Training & Factories, Mines and Geology, Government of Telangana, who attended as the Chief Guest. Dr. P. V. Nanda Kumar Reddy, Vice Chancellor of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal, joined as the Guest of Honour. The occasion also witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Dr. S. P. Vivek Chandra Rao, Vice President – BIRLA NU and Past National President – IAOH; Dr. J. Vijay Rao, Head Medical Division (Retd) – NFC and Past National President – IAOH; Mr. Shalabh Dang, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer – CARE Hospitals; Dr. P. R. Nanda Kishore, Senior Occupational Health Physician – SSMC and President – AOH-AP Branch, Hyderabad and Dr.Deepthi Sarojini T.S., Head – OH & IH, Piramal Pharma Ltd, Secretary –AOH-AP Branch.
 
Hon’ble Labour Minister Dr. Gaddam Vivek Venkat Swamy, addressed the gathering and emphasized the critical importance of preventive care and early detection in occupational health. He said, “The health of our workforce is the backbone of our nation’s growth. As industries evolve, so must our commitment to preventive healthcare and early diagnosis. Initiatives like OCCUMED play a vital role in bridging the gap between occupational health needs and accessible medical expertise, ultimately creating safer and healthier workplaces.”
 
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. P. R. Nanda Kishore, Senior Occupational Health Physician, SSMC and President, AOH-AP Branch, Hyderabad said, “OCCUMED is a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and strengthening the ties between corporate health practitioners and clinical experts. This partnership is vital in shaping healthier, more resilient workforces and in aligning medical science with real-world occupational health needs.”
 
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shalabh Dang, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer – CARE Hospitals, emphasized the growing significance of occupational health in the modern corporate world. “With the evolving landscape of employee well-being, OCCUMED reflects CARE Hospitals’ commitment to proactive engagement with industry leaders to address occupational health challenges. Our collaboration with IAOH underlines the importance of creating safe, healthy, and productive workplaces,” he stated.
 
The scientific sessions at the event were led by expert consultants from CARE Hospitals. Dr. P L N Kapardhi, Clinical Director - Cath Lab & Sr. Interventional Cardiologist and Dr. Sailaja Vasireddy, Senior Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgeon from the Department of Cardiology and Dr. Deepak Koppaka, Senior Medical Oncologist and Dr. Pragna Sagar Rapole S, Senior Radiation Oncologist from Oncology shared deep insights into the rising burden of cardiac and cancer ailments in the corporate workforce, highlighting the need for timely screening and lifestyle interventions. Dr.Chandra Babu N, CMO, Amara Raja Group,  highlighted the best OH practices in Lead Battery Mfg Industries.
 
The gathering underscored the commitment of both CARE Hospitals and IAOH to fostering dialogue, innovation, and collaboration to improve health and safety across AP and Telangana’s working population.
 
The event witnessed the participation of over 70 senior doctors and medical officers from reputed organizations. The interactive evening served as a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing on workplace health, safety practices, and preventive care in occupational settings which was followed by the AGM of AOH AP Branch with announcement of new executive committee for 2025 – 2027.
