Hyderabad, 4th May, 2025: CARE Hospitals, Musheerabad, has announced a Free Asthma Awareness and Screening Camp ‘Breath in Every Moment of Life’ on the occasion of World Asthma Day, observed globally on the first Tuesday of May (this year falling on 6th May, 2025). The initiative aims to raise awareness about asthma, promote early diagnosis, and encourage better disease management through public education and access to free expert care.

As part of the camp, free consultations with a pulmonologist and free Pulmonary Function Tests (PMT) will be offered to all participants on 6th May, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM, at CARE Hospitals, Musheerabad. The event will also feature an interactive awareness session on identifying asthma symptoms, avoiding common triggers, and following correct treatment protocols.

On the occasion, Dr. Syed Abdul Aleem, Senior Pulmonologist at CARE Hospitals, Musheerabad said, “"Asthma is a disease that affects more than 35 million people in India and over 300 million people around the world. If not diagnosed on time or not treated properly, it can seriously affect a person’s quality of life. In urban areas of India, about 1 in 10 children and 1 in 12 adults suffer from asthma. Sadly, India accounts for nearly 42% of global asthma-related deaths, many of which can be prevented. The good news is that with early diagnosis, regular treatment, and correct use of inhalers, emergency visits can be reduced by up to 60%. Through this camp, we want to create awareness and help people take control of their asthma and live healthier lives.”

The theme for World Asthma Day 2025 is "Make Inhaled Treatments Accessible for ALL". This theme emphasizes the need to ensure everyone with asthma has access to essential inhaled medications, Dr Bharati, Chief Operating Officer, CARE Hospitals, Musheerabad stated, “Asthma is a chronic but manageable condition. However, misconceptions, underdiagnosis, and lack of awareness often lead to complications. Through initiatives like this camp, we aim to educate people about asthma symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and breathlessness, especially at night or early in the morning, and provide strategies to avoid common triggers like dust, allergens, pollution, and smoke.”

CARE Hospitals encourages everyone, especially those who have trouble breathing, a family history of asthma, or frequent coughing, to attend this free camp. Early intervention and regular monitoring can significantly improve quality of life and prevent emergency complications.

CARE Hospitals remains committed to building a healthier community through preventive healthcare, patient education, and quality medical services.
