A central team is on a visit to Jaipur today to review COVID 19 situation in Rajasthan. The central team led by Dr. Vinod Kumar Paul, a member of NITI Aayog had a state-level review of COVID 19 infection with officials of the Health Department today morning.

The situation of infection in Jaipur and Jodhpur was also reviewed. The team members are also scheduled to meet Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot this evening. Reports state that Jaipur and Jodhpur cities have been the worst hit by Covid infection.

There has been a decline in new cases in the state in the last week. But a large number of cases are being reported in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Kota. The total number of active patients in the state is about 28 thousand. Out of which about 34 percent of active cases are in Jaipur alone.

While about 22 percent of active patients are in Jodhpur, Corona has claimed 2 thousand 331 lives across the state. Out of which, 30 percent of deaths have been reported in Jaipur and Jodhpur cities.

This is the reason that the state government and the central team are paying special attention to prevent the spread of infection in these two cities.
