The Covid technical Advisory Committee in Karnataka has advised the state health department to be prepared to deal with a second wave of a pandemic in January or February.
The minister for Health and Medical Education Dr. K Sudhakar informed media persons in Bengaluru today that the Committee has advised the Government to avoid crowding and keep the current pace of Covid testing.
At present, the positivity rate in the state is 1.2 percent and the pandemic curve has flattened but going by the experience elsewhere the experts committee of Doctors have predicted an outbreak of a second wave in another 45 days.
The minister informed that the state Government will restrict new year celebrations, social, political, and religious congregations till February end.
He also said that the opening of schools will be decided after consulting experts in December third week.
