▴ COVID-19 death toll rises to 86 in Manipur
Total positive cases in Manipur are recorded 12,810 till now

In Manipur, three persons expired due to COVID-19 in the past twenty-four hours increasing the total fatality in the State to 86. On the other hand, 131 people including 8 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases in the past twenty-four hours in Manipur thus taking the total count to 12,810 in the State so far. Among the new positive cases, 114 locals do not have travel history and are suspected to be infected with the virus through the local transmission.

147 persons were discharged in the past twenty-four hours and the recovery rate is 77.01 per cent. So far Manipur has recorded total recovered and discharged cases of 9866 while the number of active cases is 2858.

In another news update from North-east state Meghalaya, the state registered 127 new COVID-19 cases taking the total active cases to 2,424 with one COVID related death from East Khasi Hills district, the total number of fatalities in the State has gone up to 61. Directorate of Health Services informed that Meghalaya also witnessed 71 new recoveries bringing the total number of recovered cases in the State to 4,903.

Till date, Meghalaya has detected a total of 7,388 COVID 19 cases out of which 2,424 are active, 61 deceased and 4903 recovered.
