Latest Update on Coronavirus : Delhi, Andhra Pradesh & Jharkhand

A total of 406 new confirmed cases of Novel Corona virus have been reported in Delhi during the last twenty four hours taking the total number of cases to 7639.

Delhi Government has confirmed that two thousand 512 patients have been cured so far and the recovery rate reached to 32.83 per cent. In the last 24 hours, 13 deaths have been reported in the National Capital taking the toll to 86.

In Andhra Pradesh, the total number of COVID-19 cases have gone up to 2,051. Thirty three Corona positive cases have been recorded during the last 24 hours. As per the State Health Bulletin, of the total cases, 1,056 patients have recovered and successfully been discharged from various places during the last 24 hours. In all, 949 persons are under treatment across the state in various hospitals.

The North Coast District of Srikakulam has reported five positive cases and Vizianagaram has registered four positive cases and there has been no change in the number of positive cases in the two districts, during the past few days.

Kurnool District has the highest number of Corona positive cases of 584 and Guntur has 387 positive cases while Krishna District has 346 cases.

The Central Team on COVID-19 is going round various COVID Test Centres and places in Kurnool District in Andhra Pradesh today.

In Jharkhand, the total number of Corona positive cases has risen to 164. East Singhbhum district is the new entry in the list of districts affected with Corona cases, as two students from Chakulia have been tested positive. The district was earlier appreciated by Niti Aayog for being the only district across the country with zero number of Corona cases despite having a huge urban agglomeration cluster based in Jamshedpur city.

Although the cases reported from the district are from the sub-urban part of the district, government officials have taken all measures to seal the areas and have started contact tracing of the detected positive patient. Fourteen districts of the state have been detected with COVID-19 cases, out of which two districts Bokaro and Simdega are jostling to maintain their Corona-free district status.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren is sticking to the Central Government instructions to continue with complete Lockdown till 17th of May. Executive Committee formed under Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh have also come to the consensus of not allowing opening of shops and adhering to complete Lockdown till the 17th of May.

Meanwhile, the recovery rate of patients in the state is 47.56 per cent which is nearing to almost half of the infected patients in the state. Health Minister Banna Gupta has asserted that Corona Warriors, doctors and paramedics are doing a fantastic job in curing theses patients, despite risking their lives during the treatment of viral infection. In all, 78 patients have won their battle against the viral infection so far, while three have succumbed to death.
