In Tamil Nadu, the declining Covid-19 trend continues with the active caseload falling to 19,504. The new infections have dwindled to 2481 including 671 in Chennai.
Medical experts attribute the sustained drop in the fresh Covid-19 cases to the increasing herd immunity and effective interventions against the spread of the disease.
The overall test positivity in the state remains at 7.42 percent while yesterday’s single day ratio works out to be 3.6 percent.
The active caseload figure has retraced almost the level that was prevailing on June 14th, some four and a half months back.
As the state government has announced that schools and colleges will reopen on the 16th of this month, its modalities are being intensely discussed.
