Delhi's Coronavirus patients crosses 1,79,000 , 1,58,000 cured so far

Delhi reports fresh cases but rate of recovery is at an all time high

A total of 2,509 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Delhi during the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to over 1,79,000.

The Delhi Government has said that over 1,58,000 people affected with Coronavirus have been cured so far. In the last 24 hours, 1,858 people recovered and 19 deaths were reported in the National Capital taking the toll to 4,481. Presently, the total number of active Corona cases in the National Capital is 16,502.

Meanwhile, 68,584 COVID patients recovered in the last 24 hours in the country registering highest single day recovery till date. The overall recovery rate has also maintained it's upward trend and has now reached an impressive 77.09 per cent. So far, nearly 3 million people in the country have recovered from the viral pandemic.


Health Ministry has said, the constant increase in recoveries have ensured that the actual caseload of the country has reduced and currently comprises only 21.16 per cent of the total positive cases. The number of recovered patients has overtaken the active cases by over 3.6 times. The Ministry said, the number of recovered patients has grown over four times from the first week of July to the first week of September 2020.

Effective implementation of 'Test,Track and Treat' approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality. Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.75 per cent. In the last 24 hours, 83 thousand 883 new cases have been reported taking the total number of positive cases to 38,53407. Maharashtra , Andhra Pradesh , Karnataka , Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh together account for over 50 per cent of the confirmed cases added in the last 24 hours.

Presently, the total number of active corona cases in the country is 815000 and 538. In the last 24 hours, 1043 deaths have been reported taking the toll to 67,376.
