As hair restoration science continues to evolve, clinicians are increasingly examining one of the most widely discussed challenges in regenerative dermatology — variability in biological response.

Mumbai, 2nd June 2026: As hair restoration science continues to evolve, clinicians are increasingly examining one of the most widely discussed challenges in regenerative dermatology — variability in biological response. Autologous approaches such as plasma-rich platelet (PRP) or growth factor concentrate (GFC) therapies have played a foundational role; however, differences in individual biology and preparation techniques have led to variability in clinical outcomes.

This shift is being driven by a growing clinical realisation that variability, rather than efficacy, may be a central limitation in current biological approaches.

Recent clinical observations and structured evaluations are prompting a move toward more standardised, bioengineered signalling environments designed to improve consistency and reproducibility.

For over a decade, autologous platelet-based therapies like PRP and GFC have been widely used in hair restoration. While clinically valuable, their dependence on patient-specific biology means that the concentration and composition of signalling molecules can vary significantly, both between individuals and across treatment sessions. This inherent variability has been a subject of ongoing clinical discussion within the dermatology community.

“Variability has long been recognised as a limitation in autologous biological approaches. The ability to deliver more defined and standardised signalling inputs represents an important area of exploration in regenerative dermatology. This is exactly why I am excited about what the QR678® PREO™ means for the science of hair loss,” said Dr. Sukesh M S, Dermato Trichologist and Hair Transplant Surgeon, Skye- Skin and Hair Sciences Clinic, Bengaluru

The concept of Precision Re-engineered Efficacy Optimization has emerged as a scientific framework aimed at addressing this variability. This framework focuses on defining, standardising, and selectively optimising pro-regenerative biological signals, while minimising inhibitory influences, thereby creating a more controlled and reproducible signalling environment. The emerging shift in hair restoration is no longer just about stimulation — it is about reproducibility.

“In our clinical experience, approaches based on standardised, bioengineered signalling appear to offer greater consistency in response compared to inherently variable, patient-dependent preparations," said Dr. Neha Sachde, Dermatologist, CEO and Founder, Metamorphosis Clinic, Mumbai.

In a controlled, structured evaluation involving parallel treatment approaches, participants received either a standardised bioengineered signalling formulation or an autologous platelet-based therapy, allowing for observational comparison within a clinical setting.

Participants receiving the standardised signalling approach demonstrated measurable improvements across several clinical parameters, including global photographic assessment, terminal hair density, and reduction in hair shedding over longitudinal follow-up.

In comparison to the PRP & GFC cohort, a 43.4% improvement in global photographic assessment scores was observed with the QR678 PREO, over the study duration, relative to baseline assessments.”

Notably, the observations highlighted a greater degree of consistency in response across participants, addressing one of the most widely discussed limitations of patient-dependent biological therapies.

QR678® PREO™ is a cosmetic formulation developed based on the principles of Precision Re-engineered Efficacy Optimization. It is designed to deliver defined, biomimetic signalling inputs in a standardised manner, to support follicular function and improve consistency of biological response.

The increasing focus on standardised biological signalling reflects a broader shift in regenerative dermatology — from variability toward precision, and from empirical procedures toward more defined and reproducible biological environments.

“The focus is gradually shifting from simply stimulating biological activity to creating more structured and reproducible signalling environments, and QR678® PREO™ reflects this broader movement toward structured signalling environments,” said Dr. Md Imran Ali, Expert Dermatologist and Hair Transplant Surgeon at Dermax Skin & Hair Transplant Clinic, Hyderabad.

As this shift continues to gain momentum, frameworks such as Precision Re-engineered Efficacy Optimization are contributing to a more structured understanding of how biological signals can be organised and delivered.
