Gujarat reports record 1379 new cases of COVID-19 in last 24 hours

At present total, active cases in the state are 16,007, out of which 96 patients are on a ventilator. 14 patients died yesterday taking the total deaths due to Covid19 up to 3273.

Gujarat has reported a record of 1379 new cases of Covid19 during the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the state has gone up to 1 lakh 19 thousand 88.

With the recovery of 1652 patients yesterday, the recovery rate has further improved and reached up to 83.81 percent. A total of 99,808 patients has recovered in the state till now. More than 36 lakh 9 thousand tests have been carried out in the state till date, out of which 85,820 tests were carried out yesterday. A maximum of 280 new cases was reported from Surat.

Meanwhile, Ahmedabad municipal corporation has added 11 new areas in the micro containment zone following the detection of new cases. 

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced an assistance scheme to encourage the use of battery-operated two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the state. The announcement was made to check air pollution in the state.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Government will provide a subsidy of 12,000 rupees to school students studying in Standard-9th to colleges for battery-operated two-wheelers. The government is targeting to provide such subsidies for 10,000 such vehicles. Similarly, a subsidy of 48,000 rupees will be given for three-wheeler e-rickshaw for individual and institutional beneficiaries. This subsidy will be given for 5,000 e-rickshaw.

Chief Minister also announced a 50-lakh rupee scheme for creating the necessary infrastructure for charging e-vehicles. This was announced on the occasion of the foundation day of the climate change department in the state yesterday.
