Telangana Government Launches Groundbreaking Coffee Table Book Showcasing India’s Life Sciences Leadership and Hyderabad’s GCC Rise.

Hyderabad, 6th October 2025 – The Government of Telangana, in collaboration with global healthcare and lifescience consulting firm Healthark, unveiled a first-of-its-kind coffee table book titled “India’s Life Sciences Renaissance: The Hyderabad GCC Opportunity.” This visually compelling book offers a sweeping chronicle of India’s journey in life sciences and healthcare, with a focused lens on how Hyderabad is evolving as a global hub for innovation-driven Global Capability Centers (GCCs).

The book was officially launched by Shri Anumula Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Telangana and Shri D. Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, Government of Telangana. The launch event was graced by the presence of several senior dignitaries including Sri Sanjay Kumar IAS, Special Chief Secretary for ITE&C; Sri B Ajith Reddy Special Secretary to the Hon. Chief minister and Mr. Shakthi Nagappan, CEO, Telangana Life Sciences Foundation.

The coffee table book traces the evolution of Life Sciences and Healthcare GCCs (LSHC GCCs) in India, beginning in the early 2000s with a focus on cost efficiency and back-office support, through their transformation into high-value strategic hubs that now anchor global R&D, digital innovation, and enterprise leadership. Today, Hyderabad stands as a beacon of this transformation with over 2,000 life sciences companies, contributing to one-third of the world’s vaccine production, and housing 250+ USFDA-approved sites, the highest concentration globally.

Conceptualized by the HealthArk in collaboration with the Government, the book features success stories, leadership insights, and sectoral contributions of over 10+ global organizations that have chosen Hyderabad as their strategic base. It captures how these centers have evolved from support arms to global innovation powerhouses, driving value across functions like AI, cybersecurity, digital health, fintech, ESG, and more.

Speaking at the launch, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Anumula Revanth Reddy highlighted,
“Hyderabad has emerged as a beacon for global innovation, and our Life sciences Global Capability Centers are at the heart of this transformation. The GCC Coffee Table Book is a celebration of this journey - of vision, partnership, and progress. It reflects our commitment to building a Life sciences ecosystem where global enterprises thrive, talent flourishes, and ideas shape the future.”

Hon’ble Minister Shri D. Sridhar Babu added that “Hyderabad has truly become the preferred destination for global capability centers in life sciences and healthcare. This book reflects Telangana’s ambition and strategic commitment to making Hyderabad a powerhouse for global innovation - driven by our ecosystem, talent, and governance model.

The narrative also highlights key enablers behind Telangana’s success including Genome Valley, TG-iPASS, and the unique digital transformation underway in drug development, led by Hyderabad’s AI- and data-powered GCCs.”

Dr. Purav Gandhi, Founder of Healthark, shared that “the scale and maturity of GCCs in Hyderabad have grown exponentially, driven by the city’s collaborative mindset between government, industry, and academia.” Healthark’s Co-founder, Mr. Sudeep Krishna, added that the book “captures how Hyderabad’s ecosystem is redefining the future of life sciences through foresight, innovation, and policy alignment.”

The launch also marks the beginning of a broader knowledge-sharing initiative by the Government of Telangana to further elevate Hyderabad’s positioning as the life sciences capital of India and a global hub for GCC excellence.
