Himachal Pradesh government has extended the existing night curfew in Shimla, Mandi, Kangra, and Kullu districts, till the 5th of next month, in order to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision to extend the curfew was taken in a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in Shimla today.
The curfew will remain imposed in these districts from 9 pm to 6 am.
It may be recalled that earlier, the state government had decided to impose a night curfew from November 23 to December 15.
Meanwhile, the state registered 12 more COVID-19 fatalities today, taking the death toll in the state to 813.
While 676 patients were also recovered from the disease today, taking the total number of recoveries to 41954.
The total infection count of the state stands at 49761.
