Delhi:- A total of 6,842 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus infection were reported in Delhi during the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to over 4,09,938. Delhi Government said that over 3.65 lakh people affected with Coronavirus have been cured so far. In the last 24 hours, 5,797 people recovered and 51 deaths were reported in the National Capital taking the toll to 6,703. Presently, the total number of active cases in the National Capital is 37,369.

Assam:- In Assam, no COVID-19 death has been reported in the state. It happened after 115 days. 934 persons have succumbed to Covid -19 so far in the state. Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said 380 cases were reported in the state during the last 24 hours. He said Assam has registered a 95.64 percent recovery rate. There are 8,110 active cases in the state as of now.

Karnataka:- Karnataka reported 8,045 recoveries and 3,377 new COVID- 19 cases on Wednesday. The state conducted 1,02,503 COVID tests, out of which 75,045 were RT-PCR tests. There were 34 deaths due to COVID during the last 24 hours. Presently, 928 patients are taking treatment in ICU. The state has a recovery rate of 93.8 percent, a Positivity rate of 3.29 percent, and a Case Fatality rate of one percent. State Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar said that the COVID control measures were found satisfactory by the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. Dr.Sudhakar was speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Wednesday after holding a video conference with the Union Health Minister. He said Central assistance is being sought to establish oxygen plants in the state. Dr. Harsh Vardhan asked the state to formulate strategy during the festive season and winter, identify ILI and SARI cases and conduct maximum tests to contain the pandemic.

Bihar:- In Bihar, the COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 96.50 percent. This is 4.50 percent more than the national average. The number of active cases in the state is continuously declining. Currently, 6,560 patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. In all, 976 patients recovered during the last 24 hours, while 541 new cases were reported. Over 2,11,831 patients have so far recovered from the infection in the state.

Gujarat:- Gujarat recorded 975 new COVID cases during the last 24 hours. The recovery rate has reached up to 90.86 percent. AIR correspondent reports, Gujarat has recorded a total of 1,76,608 cases till now. Out of these, 1,60,470 patients recovered. In all, 1,022 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. More than 62.62 lakh tests have been carried out in the state till date. Maximum 214 new cases reported from Surat, while Ahmedabad recorded 174 new cases. At present, total active cases in the state are 12,398, out of which 64 patients are on a ventilator. Six patients died yesterday taking the total deaths due to COVID-19 up to 3,740. 

Madhya Pradesh:- In Madhya Pradesh, more than 30 lakh tests have been conducted in the state so far while around 700 hundred new cases have been reported in the past 24 hours. At the same time, the number of patients recovering in the state is more than the number of infected persons for many days. AIR correspondent reports, a total of 26, 191 samples have been tested on Wednesday. The positivity rate in the state has come down to around 2.6 percent. The positivity rate means the number of people testing positive per 100 samples. On the other hand, the death toll in the state reached 2,987. However, 46 districts have reported less than 20 new infections a day while more than 40 districts have not reported any new death. It was the seventh consecutive day, when the number of people recovering from the Corona infection, outnumbered those testing positive. With 884 people beating the virus on Wednesday, the tally of recovered cases reached more than one lakh 63 thousand. Bhopal reported the highest 179 new cases, followed by Indore with 52 cases and Gwalior with 48 new cases of COVID-19.

Telangana:- In Telangana, 1,539 new cases of COVID -19 were reported during the past 24 hours.  With this, the total COVID cases in the state went up to two lakh 45 thousand 682.  The state conducted over 44 thousand tests on Wednesday. The recovery rate was reported at 91.85 percent with 978 more people recovering on Wednesday. This took the number of recovered people so far in the state to two lakh 25 thousand 664. The daily bulletin issued by the State Medical and Health Department stated that total deaths rose to 1,362 following five more people succumbing to COVID and comorbidities during the past 24 hours. Currently, the state has over 18 thousand active cases out of which over 15 thousand are in home isolation. Meanwhile, 285 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Hyderabad while Ranga Reddy and Medchal Malkajgiri districts reported over a hundred new cases during the past 24 hours. Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Karimnagar, and Nalgonda districts reported a considerably high number of COVID cases each during the same period.

Tamil Nadu:- In Tamil Nadu, the fresh COVID infections during the last 24-hours came down marginally to 2,487 including 657 in Chennai. The active caseload has dipped to 19,154. Meanwhile, the State Government has decided to consult the parents on the reopening of schools in the state. AIR correspondent reports, the State Government announced earlier that schools from the 9th Standard onwards and all colleges will reopen on the 16th of this month. However, different sections of the society expressed reservations saying it may not augur well for the resumption of classes physically for now. It has led the State Education Department to go for another round of detailed consultations with the parents and other stakeholders at 10 a.m. coming Monday. The Headmasters of the schools have been asked to hold the meetings. Those parents who could not attend it physically can submit their opinion in writing. It has now been announced that any decision on the date of reopening of schools will be based on the inputs received from the parents during the fresh round of consultations.
