Along with the fresh coronavirus cases, states and union territories have also recorded 11,764 discharges

India has reported 12,923 fresh Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, taking the country’s case tally to 1,08,71,294. The country has also recorded 108 Covid-19 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Along with the fresh coronavirus cases, states and union territories have also recorded 11,764 discharges, said the Union Health Ministry. The total number of recovered cases now stands at 1,05,73,372.

India now has 1,42,562 active Covid-19 cases. With 108 deaths, the country’s Covid-19 death toll has now gone up to 1,55,360.

ICMR has said a total of 20,40,23,840 samples have been tested for Covid-19 up to February 10. Of these, 6,99,185 samples were tested on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, India has become the fastest country in the world to achieve over 70 lakh vaccinations against COVID-19 in only 26 days. It took 27 days for the US and 48 days for the UK. Union Health Ministry said, a total of over 70,17,000 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccines in the country so far. More than 4,05,000 people were inoculated with COVID vaccine doses in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry said, 13 States and Union Territories have vaccinated over 65 per cent of the registered health care workers. Bihar leads with over 79 per cent of the registered health care workers being vaccinated.

Puducherry has recorded the lowest vaccination performance of 17.5 per cent. The country's COVID-19 recovery rate has reached 97.26 per cent with the total recovery of more than 11 thousand patients in the last 24 hours.
