India on Monday reported 13,203 fresh coronavirus cases and 131 deaths in the past 24 hours, as per the Union health ministry. With the fresh number of coronavirus cases, India's Covid-19 caseload has climbed to 1,06,67,736.
A total of 13,298 patients were discharged on Sunday following recovery from coronavirus. This took the overall recovery count in the country to 1,03,30,084.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the government has started supplying COVID vaccines to the neighbouring countries and the vaccines will be provided to other countries across the world if the need arises. Addressing the NCC cadets at the NCC camp in New Delhi today, Mr Singh said, our scientists have developed two COVID-19 vaccines and following the concept of 'world is family', India is extending help to other countries.
The Defence Minister said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to expand National Cadet Corps and the government has identified more than 1,100 schools wherein the NCC training will be begin. He urged on the need to provide training facility to cadets at the border and coastal areas. He added that there were 28 per cent girl cadets in NCC earlier which has now been increased to around 43 per cent.
He said, this shows the commitment of the government towards women empowerment. He also added that the government has decided to give preference to the NCC cadets in employment. Terming the NCC cadets as second line of defence of the country, Mr. Singh applauded the role played by the NCC cadets in the various initiatives of the government. He said, cadets served the nation by providing help during the COVID-19 pandemic and creating awareness about the various initiatives of the government. He said, vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and New India can be fulfilled with the help of NCC cadets who possess strong will power, bravery, discipline and sense of national pride.
