As the coronavirus pandemic is getting thick and deep in India by day, the very decisive government has put brake to all passenger trains till March 32. Sparsely, very few and far between services of suburban trains and Kolkata metro continued till yesterday night.
The press release issued by Ministry of Railways cleared that every originating long-distance Mail/Express and Intercity trains (including premium trains) and all originating passenger trains shall remain cancelled till 2400 hours of 31 March. To make sure essential supplies reach every corner of the country, goods trains will continue its operations normally. Full refund for all cancelled trains may be taken till 31 March 2020.
