Mumbai, 3rd December, 2025: Kapadia Hospital has completed over 100 surgeries in just eight months, becoming the first in Mumbai to implement a state-of-the-art robotic system for AI-enabled, robotic-activated knee replacements. This Made-in-India innovation marks a significant milestone in advancing accessible and affordable domestic medical technologies.

 This new system uses specialized software that can take into account real-time data to build an accurate 3D model of each individual patient’s anatomy. This allows surgeons to perform extremely precise cuts of bone, as well as to place implants in the proper position. The MISSO robotic system is also equipped with an optical camera for tracking, safety mechanisms, and the ability to make intraoperative adjustments that improve joint stability and facilitate easier movement after surgical completion using an advanced six-joint robotic arm.

MISSO integrates robotic planning and execution using AI technology, so it can offer a streamlined system for robotic replacement of joints by incorporating advanced surgical technology, including the 6-axis robotic arm, robotic-guidance systems, and any additional safety features required for performing a robotic procedure on a patient.

 Additionally, the advantages of using MISSO include more precise alignment of the bones, improved healing from less traumatic injury to surrounding tissues, less bleeding during surgery, less post-surgical recovery period, faster return to full mobility, and a greater likelihood that the patient will be able to afford and access robotic replacement surgery.
