Bengaluru and Mysuru reported more positive cases than the rest of the state

Karnataka has reported more recoveries than the new Covid cases yesterday. 8,500 patients were discharged after recovery and 6,297 new COVID-19 cases were reported. The Covid recovery rate is around 84 per cent. Whereas India has recorded a recovery rate of 88.63 per cent. 66 fatalities were also reported from the state

The total number of infections now stands at 7,76,901 and the death toll at 10,608.

Following a significant rise in the State’s testing capacity, Karnataka is now among the five States whose active cases have seen a considerable drop in the past few days. The number of daily new positive cases to has reduced in the past one week.

A total of over 68,44,594 samples have been tested so far, out of which 98,236 were tested yesterday alone. 78 private labs and 42 government labs are involved in the covid tests. Out of the fresh cases reported yesterday 2,821 cases were reported from Bengaluru Urban alone.

Bengaluru Urban district tops the list of positive cases, with a total of 3,12,842, followed by Mysuru 45,644 and Ballari 36,076. As many as 1,03,945 active patients are taking treatment in various hospitals across the State among them 941 are in ICU.
