Maharashtra continues to report a steady decline in the number of new COVID-19 positive cases.

The state reported 2,535 new cases today, taking the total number of positive cases to 17,49,777.

According to the state’s public health department, 3,001 patients were discharged from various hospitals today, taking the total number of recoveries till date to 16,18,380.

With 60 people succumbing to the infection, the death toll has risen to 46,034. The number of active cases in Maharashtra stands at 84,386.

Mumbai reported 409 new cases, taking its total caseload to 2,70,119.

The city recorded 489 recoveries, taking its total recoveries to 2,45,734.

With 12 deaths, the toll has increased to 10,585. The number of active cases in Mumbai currently stands at 13,033.

Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 92.49 percent while the case fatality rate is 2.63 percent.
