Mumbai still reporting more than average active cases

Maharashtra reported 5,027 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, taking its caseload to 17,10,314. According to the state’s public health department, recoveries jumped by 11,060 to 15,62,342 while the death toll increased by 161 to reach 44965. The state has so far conducted 93,18,544 tests.

The number of active cases in Maharashtra stands at 1,02,099. At present, 10,59,499 people are in home quarantine and 8879 people are in institutional quarantine.

Mumbai city reported 792 positive cases yesterday, which pushed its overall case count to 2,62,473. Death toll in Mumbai rose to 10,399 after 22 more patients succumbed to the infection.

Meanwhile, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has appealed to the Corona warriors to continue their dedicated efforts for the service of the society to meet the corona challenge. While felicitating Corona warriors, he said that the Covid challenge is not yet over and there is a need of dedicated service efforts in large numbers from various stakeholders of the society.
