Maharashtra today recorded 2,949 new cases of coronavirus infection, taking the total number of affected people to 18,83,365 in the state.

Maharashtra today recorded 2,949 new cases of coronavirus infection, taking the total number of affected people to 18,83,365 in the state.
 
According to the state’s public health department, 4,610 corona patients were discharged today, taking the total number of recoveries to 17,61,615.
 
With 60 more succumbing to the infection, the state’s Covid death toll has climbed to 48,269.
 
There are currently 72,383 active cases in the state.
 

Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 93.54 percent while the case fatality rate stands at 2.56 percent. Maharashtra has conducted 1.17 crore tests so far and the positivity rate stands at 16.03 percent.

 
Mumbai too recorded a lesser number of cases and fatalities. The city saw 477 new cases, taking the total number of affected people to 2,91,113, while seven deaths were reported today.
