Maharashtra registers more than 25,000 cases for 2nd consecutive day

Maharashtra government urges citizens for vaccination to handle the spike in pandemic

Maharashtra, for the second consecutive day, registered more than 25 thousand cases. The state reported 25,681 new covid-19 cases yesterday taking the caseload to 24,22,021. According to reports, Mumbai yesterday crossed the 3 thousand mark, which is the highest one-day spike, as the city registered 3062 fresh covid-19 cases taking the caseload to over 3 lakh 55 thousand.

The BMC has decided to conduct antigen tests at several crowded spots around Mumbai. BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal said that Rapid Antigen Tests will be conducted at railway stations, bus stops crowded markets and other such places to detect positive cases in the city on time. The BMC also made negative RT-PCR Covid-19 test report mandatory for people entering shopping malls in the city from March 22.


Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray appealed to people to get vaccinated without fear. He urged the people to cooperate with the government administration as the current situation is more challenging than last time and also directed them to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the government.
