After days of reporting over 60,000 Covid-19 cases, Maharashtra on Monday saw a sharp drop in daily cases with 48,700 fresh infections.

A total of 71,736 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients in Maharashtra has increased to 82.92 per cent.

The fresh cases reported yesterday have taken the state's tally of active cases to 6,74,770. According to the state government data, Maharashtra also recorded 524 coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The novel coronavirus has claimed 65,284 lives to date. The case fatality rate in the state now stands at 1.5 per cent.
