Maharashtra’s Covid-19 tally increased by 3,277 yesterday to reach 17,23,135. Mumbai recorded 599 new cases, taking its tally to 2,65,142.
According to Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, 507 patients were discharged during the day while 20 more succumbed to the infection.
The number of active patients in the city stands at 16,923. Spread of Covid-19 is coming under control in Mumbai. The number of containment zones in Mumbai is also declining rapidly.
The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has reported a decrease of 1241 containment zones in the city and suburbs. In the first week of this month alone, the number of sealed buildings dropped to 1,159 and the number of containment zones in slums to 82.
Mumbai’s Civic Chief Iqbal Singh Chahal has said that it is important to ensure that Covid-19’s graph continues to remain on the downward side.
He has urged people to strictly follow Covid -19 protocol so as to avoid a second wave of the deadly infection.
He has also appealed to citizens to celebrate Diwali in a simple manner just like all the other festivals this year to ensure that there is no further spread of the disease.
