Mumbai, 18th August 2026: Man Matters, a men’s health platform, has become the first men’s health platform in India to bring at-home blood testing specifically for hair health, enabling men to book diagnostic tests through the Man Matters app, get samples collected at home by a NABL trusted lab and have their reports reviewed by a Man Matters doctor. The new service enables men to test for nutritional deficiencies, and metabolic markers from home, followed by doctor-led interpretation.

The new offering is designed to help men understand potential internal factors contributing to hair fall and thinning, before deciding on a treatment plan. The service brings diagnostics into the hair-care journey, helping men move towards a more informed approach to hair health.

Having grown to nearly 5,000 consultations booked a day and over 6.3 lakh completed doctor consultations in the past year, Man Matters has observed a recurring pattern: many men begin treating hair loss without first understanding what may be contributing to it."
Among the factors frequently seen in consultations are Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D deficiencies. External data also indicates that more than 80% of urban Indian men have suboptimal Vitamin D levels.

“In Indian men, two gaps do the most damage. Low Vitamin D stalls the follicle's growth phase and triggers shedding across the scalp; low B12 starves the fast-dividing cells at the root, so hair grows weaker. Neither causes genetic baldness, but both can quietly accelerate the thinning and blunt your treatment. Knowing which one you're dealing with is the difference between guessing and treating.” says Dr. Kanishka Kaul, MBBS, MD, DNB (Dermatology) at Man Matters.

The launch addresses a familiar gap in how men approach hair health: treating the symptom without first investigating the possible cause. By bringing diagnostic testing into the hair-care journey, Man Matters aims to encourage a more informed approach, test first, treat second.

A blood test cannot explain genetic hair loss, but it can help identify whether an underlying deficiency is quietly contributing to it. A report that reads ‘normal’ does not necessarily mean that everything is optimal for hair health. Through our experience and analysis of men’s health concerns at Man Matters, we saw a clear gap, men were often treating hair fall without first understanding what may be driving it. This led us to bring at-home blood testing specifically for hair health, making diagnosis more accessible and helping men take a more informed first step towards their hair-care journey.Geet Rathi, Co-founder, Man Matters

At-Home Testing Options

Man Matters offers multiple testing options for different hair and health needs. A focused screen covers the core markers linked to hair health, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and thyroid function, while a comprehensive panel adds metabolic and iron-storage markers like blood sugar, lipid profile and serum ferritin, for men who want a fuller picture of what may be driving their hair fall.

The service is designed to make the testing experience convenient, private and accessible. Men can check serviceability, select a testing package and book a preferred time slot through the Man Matters platform. A trained phlebotomist then visits the home to collect the sample.

Throughout the process, users receive updates via SMS and WhatsApp, with a live status journey covering slots booked, samples collected and report ready.

Once the report is available, it is followed by a free doctor consultation to help users understand their results and determine the appropriate next steps.

The service is now live at manmatters.com/blood-test-booking.

With the launch of at-home blood testing, Man Matters is expanding its approach to men’s hair health beyond treatment, bringing diagnostics into the conversation and making it easier for men to understand the internal factors that may be influencing their hair health.
