National level Rheumatology Conference in KIMS Hospital

The chairman of KIMS Hospitals, Dr. Bollineni Bhaskara Rao said that there are many new types of treatment methods coming up around the world for rheumatology problems such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, autoimmune diseases, etc. He asked rheumatologists to constantly monitor and be aware of and try to soothe patients with the newest methods of treatment.

Hyderabad, 3rd January 2026: The chairman of KIMS Hospitals, Dr. Bollineni Bhaskara Rao said that there are many new types of treatment methods coming up around the world for rheumatology problems such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, autoimmune diseases, etc. He asked rheumatologists to constantly monitor and be aware of and try to soothe patients with the newest methods of treatment. He spoke at the conclusion session of the two-day Clinical Rheumatology Conference 2026 (CRC2026) that took place on the 3rd and 4th of January at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad. More than 400 rheumatologists from around the country have attended this conference. The conference, a biannual event, focused on case-based discussions of the most challenging cases treated by experienced rheumatologists, making it a unique and enriching experience for all attendees. After a case-by-case discussion on how experienced rheumatologists have treated the most complex cases, all the participants were briefed on the conference on how to treat such cases.

The inauguration of the conference was graced by esteemed guests including Dr B. Bhaskar Rao (CMD, KIMS Hospitals), Dr. Sambit Sahu, Medical Director (KIMS Hospitals, Sec-bad), Dr. B. Srinvias, Deputy Director General of Min of Health & Family welfare, Govt of India, Dr. Vinod President Elect, IRA, Dr Sarath Chandra Mouli (Clinical Director, Rheumatology department, KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad), and Dr D Rajkiran (Director, Hyderabad Rheumatology Centre).

Dr. Sarath Chandra Mouli Veeravalli, the organizing secretary, and Dr. Vinod Ravindran, the Scientific Chair for CRC2026, led the conference with a focus on discussing topics such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriatic arthritis, Gout, Vasculitis, Childhood arthritis, and rare rheumatic conditions. The conference also featured a Rheumatology quiz for trainees, providing an engaging platform for young rheumatologists to test their knowledge.

One of the highlights of CRC2026 was the newly included image competition, which received an overwhelming response from participants and added a creative dimension to the conference. Additionally, 269 case abstracts were submitted from across India, with the top Impartent cases in each category being discussed during the conference sessions.

"The conference has provided a valuable opportunity for us to exchange knowledge, discuss challenging cases, and further our understanding of rheumatic and musculoskeletal, Lupas diseases."

The Clinical Rheumatology Conference 2026 has once again demonstrated its importance as a leading platform for advancing the field of rheumatology in India. Plans are already underway for the next edition of CRC, which is set to continue its tradition of excellence in knowledge sharing and professional development in rheumatology.
