Vaccination will now be taken three months post clinical recovery from COVID, said Union Health Minister.
The National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 (NEGVAC) recommended that if an individual is infected with coronavirus after the first dose, the second dose to be deferred by three months after clinical recovery from COVID infection. No screening of vaccine recipients by Rapid Antigen Test prior to COVID-19 vaccination. These recommendations have been accepted by Union Health Minister.
The center has also accepted the recommendation of inoculating lactating mothers while vaccination for pregnant women will be further considered. The cumulative total sample tested up to May 19th is 32,23,56,187. Till now total count of infection is 2,54,96,330 and fatality count is 2,83,248.
