Nagaland records 84 fresh positive cases of COVID-19
In Nagaland, 84 fresh positive cases of COVID-19 were reported today taking the total number of to 5,946.
State Health and Family Welfare Department informed that the cases included 71 from Dimapur, 9 in Kohima, 3 in Longleng and 1 on Mon. The State also reported 66 recoveries from COVID-19 which included 50 from Dimapur, 7 each from Kohima and Mokokchung and 2 from Tuensang.
At present, there are 1,042 active cases, while 4,848 have recovered. Out of 16 deaths, 11 persons have died of COVID-19 infection, while 5 deaths are not COVID related.40 affected people have migrated.
248 people test positive for COVID-19 in Manipur
In Manipur, 248 people including 68 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last twenty-four hours while 195 people were discharged after recovery.
Among the news cases, 175 are locals who do not have significant travel history and are suspected to be infected through the local transmission.
The total number of positive cases in Manipur is 10299 including 2209 Central Security Personnel.
7876 people have recovered so far while the number of active cases is 2359. The recovery rate registered today is 76.47 percent. 64 people have died due to Covid infection in the State.
Meanwhile, India's total recoveries of Covid cases today crossed the landmark milestone of 50 lakh.
In a tweet, the Health Ministry said, the rise from one lakh in June this year has been steep. The last 10 lakh recoveries were added in just 11 days. The Ministry said India has witnessed a very high level of more than 90 thousand recoveries every day recently.
Recovered cases have outpaced active cases by more than five times. Health Ministry said, the commendable feat has been achieved through enhanced medical infrastructure, implementation of Standard Treatment Protocol, full dedication and commitment of doctors, paramedics and frontline workers.
