Hyderabad 28th September 2025: On this World Heart Day, Olive Hospital steps forward with a compelling call to action: safeguard every heartbeat. According to the World Heart Report 2023, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) caused an estimated 20.5 million deaths globally in 2021, accounting for roughly one-third of all deaths worldwide.

The 2023 WHO/World Heart Federation-data underscores that ischemic heart disease and stroke together remain the dominant contributors to cardiovascular mortality.

This World Heart Day, under the banner “Use Heart, Know Heart,” Olive Hospital urges individuals, communities, and government stakeholders to act decisively. Heart disease is not distant — it is present in our lifestyles, diets, stress levels, and inaccessibility to preventive care.

We at Olive Hospital believe that the fight against heart disease begins long before a crisis,” said Dr. Zahed Ullah Khan, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Olive Hospital said “This data is not just numbers — it’s a wake-up call. It must push us to integrate prevention and early detection into every life stage.”

Olive Hospital is launching intensified heart health outreach programs: free screening camps, educational drives, collaboration with local clinics, and mobile units reaching underserved areas. The hospital also calls on public health authorities to scale up primary cardiac care, make screenings affordable and accessible, and ensure the continuity of lifestyle-modification support (nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation).

If current trends continue unchecked, the burden of heart disease will further intensify — overwhelming health systems, disrupting lives, and escalating costs on families and society. Olive Hospital reaffirms its commitment to stand at the forefront of prevention, care, and awareness.
