In Maharashtra, over 1.5 lakh health workers have been vaccinated so far. Six vaccination centers in the state are administering Covaxin. It was reported that as many as 41, 470 health workers were vaccinated at 528 centers in Maharashtra yesterday. Gadchiroli district has the highest number of 126 per cent vaccinations.

Satara, Dhule, Wardha, Jalna and Buldana districts followed with 100 per cent vaccination. Dr Pradeep Vyas, Principal Secretary of Health Department said that a total of 1,78,371 health workers have been vaccinated in the state so far.

Meantime, the state reported 2,171 new Covid-19 cases, taking the cumulative total to 20,15,524. 32 patients succumbed to the infection during the day taking the tally of the deceased to 50,894. On the other hand, 2,556 patients were discharged yesterday taking the total number of the recoveries to 19,20,006.

Meanwhile, the country's COVID-19 recovery rate reached 96.94 per cent with the total recovery of more than 14 thousand patients in the last 24 hours. The Health Ministry said that more than 1,03,73,000 patients have already recovered from this disease. The number of COVID-19 active cases is on a continuously declining trajectory in the country.

Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is 1,73,740 which comprises only 1.62 per cent of the total positive cases. The Health Ministry said, 123 deaths were reported during the last 24 hour taking the toll to one lakh 53 thousand 847 across the country.
