CARE Insurance Summit 2025 Calls for Trust, Transparency, and Outcome-Led Partnerships Across Healthcare–Insurance Ecosystem

Hyderabad, 20th December, 2025: CARE Hospitals hosted the CARE Insurance Summit 2025, at The Park Hotel, Hyderabad, bringing together senior leaders from insurance companies, TPAs, healthcare providers, and institutional stakeholders to discuss structural alignment across India’s healthcare and insurance ecosystem, with a focus on trust, operational transparency, and patient care.

The summit was attended by Dr. Maj. Mukund Kulkarni, Chief Business Officer – Life & Health Insurance, Insurance Information Bureau of India, as the Guest of Honour. The event also witnessed participation from senior leadership at CARE Hospitals, including Mr. Shalabh Dang, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer; Mr. Vaibhav Joshi, Senior Vice President – Finance; Dr. Naveen Chand, Medical Superintendent, CARE Hospitals, Hitech City; Dr. Prasenjit Ray, Head – Insurance; and Mr. Siddharth Datta, Head of Credit Business, along with representatives from leading insurance companies and TPAs.

The deliberations centred on reinforcing Uberrima Fides (utmost good faith) as a governing principle in insurer–provider relationships, amid increasing operational complexity, regulatory oversight, and rising cost pressures. Participants underscored the need to move beyond transactional engagement models towards partnership-led frameworks that support ethical decision-making, clinical integrity, and predictable outcomes.

Mr. Shalabh Dang, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, CARE Hospitals, said, “Healthcare and insurance are not parallel systems; they are interdependent pillars of patient trust. At CARE Hospitals, we firmly believe that hospitals, insurers, and TPAs are co-custodians of that trust. When clinical integrity, being ethical, accurate documentation, and transparent evaluations are priority, we move closer to a healthcare system that is efficient, compassionate, and sustainable. The CARE Insurance Summit is our commitment to resetting the lens, from transactions to partnerships, keeping patients at the focus of every decision.”

Providing a national perspective on insurance and healthcare data, Dr. Maj. Mukund Kulkarni, Chief Business Officer – Life & Health Insurance, Insurance Information Bureau of India (IIB), highlighted the growing importance of data in policy design, risk assessment, and outcome measurement as health insurance penetration expands. He emphasized the need for stronger alignment between insurers and healthcare providers, supported by initiatives such as ROHINI 2.0 and the National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX), to improve transparency and efficiency. Dr. Kulkarni also spoke about IRDAI’s vision of “Insurance for All by 2047” and underscored that the regulator is closely monitoring claim denials and deductions, urging insurers to move beyond a narrow cost-control mindset toward fair, patient-centric claims management.

The summit also acknowledged the operational challenges faced by insurers and TPAs, including compliance, medical appropriateness, and turnaround timelines, better patient care and emphasised the importance of consistent communication and shared standards.

The CARE Insurance Summit 2025 concluded with a reaffirmation of the need for structured dialogue, institutional trust, and coordinated action to support a resilient, outcome-oriented healthcare system.
