New Delhi, September 2, 2026: Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, announced a strategic collaboration with Cent to advance preventive diagnostics and early risk detection in India. Bringing together Philips' advanced imaging innovations and Cent's preventive health screening model, the collaboration aims to explore new approaches to identifying health risks earlier and supporting a more proactive approach to healthcare.
Globally, healthcare systems are evolving from reactive disease management towards predictive and preventive care, and the need for advanced technologies that enable earlier risk identification has become increasingly important. As part of the collaboration, Philips will deploy its helium-free, wide-bore 70 cm 1.5T MRI systems equipped with AI-enabled SmartSpeed image acceleration at Cent preventive health screening centres. The collaboration is intended to support enhanced screening experience for individuals, high-quality imaging and more efficient MRI workflows, while enabling the evaluation of neurological, spine and oncology-related indications and risk assessment pathways. It will also evaluate MRI protocols, clinical workflows and operational requirements necessary to support preventive screening and risk assessment in asymptomatic individuals.
Bharath Sesha, Managing Director, Philips Indian Subcontinent, said, "At Philips, we believe meaningful innovation can play a vital role in shifting healthcare from treatment towards prevention and early intervention. Advanced imaging technologies and AI-enabled solutions have the potential to support earlier identification of health risks, improve diagnostic confidence and enhance patient experiences. Through our collaboration with Cent, we look forward to exploring innovative approaches that can help strengthen preventive diagnostics and support better health outcomes for more people."
Anshul Khandelwal, Co-Founder, Cent, said, “At Cent, we are deeply invested in advancing AI-led research that can make preventive screening more precise, scalable and effective for asymptomatic individuals. This collaboration with Philips validates the need to build new imaging protocols, clinical workflows and risk-assessment models specifically for preventive healthcare. For India, where too many serious conditions are still detected only after symptoms appear, strengthening early detection is critical. Our mission is to build the clinical and technological infrastructure needed to identify risks earlier and enable timely intervention at scale.”
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by Philips and Cent to advance preventive healthcare through innovation, research and technology-enabled diagnostics. The aim is to contribute to a future where healthcare is increasingly proactive, personalised and focused on earlier risk detection and intervention.
