Royal Canin is partnering with 8 NGOs, including Friendicoes, Animal Matter to Me, Karma Animal Foundation, and Kalote Animal Trust, among others, to coordinate the placement of water bowls.

14, May 2026: With temperatures regularly crossing 35° C to 450 C across different parts of India, while most of us have access to cold water or a refreshing beverage, millions of community pets across the country are left to brave the sun without any respite. To help them stay cool and hydrated, Royal Canin, a pioneer in ‘Health through Nutrition’ for cats and dogs, is stepping in with a mission to place 6,000+ water bowls across multiple locations throughout the country.

The initiative is part of flagship animal welfare campaign titled “Hydration Heroes”, will be conducted as month long campaign during scorching summers (from 2nd May to 1st June 2026).

Royal Canin continues its efforts by partnering with network of NGOs across 6 metro cities including (Friendicoes, Animal Matter to Me, Karma Animal Foundation, People for Kalote Animal Trust, and other dedicated organisations). Together, they will coordinate the distribution of water bowls in multiple Residential areas, high-footfall, high-need zones, ensuring that every community pet has access to clean drinking water during the harshest months of the year.

Commenting on the initiative, Satinder Singh, General Manager, Royal Canin India said, “Pet nutrition has gained much awareness, but community cats and dogs’ well-being is often left out of the conversation. Water is a basic need for every living being, and the onus is on us to ensure animals don’t suffer in the heat. Hydration Heroes is our way of bridging the gap by providing fresh, clean drinking water for the animals that call the streets their home. We are pleased to collaborate with our NGO partners who have been relentlessly working to help community animals gain consistent access to food and water. We will continue to remain committed to the well-being of animals, regardless of whether they live inside a home or outside.”

With each NGO partner bringing grassroots knowledge of local community animals, the initiative is set to address the animals’ critical vulnerability at Pan India scale. The 31-day program covers the peak of summer and reflects Royal Canin’s core ethos of advocating for animal well-being and creating better cities for pets.
