BJP national spokesperson and a very prominent figure of the ruling party, Sambit Patra is admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon after he showed symptoms of COVID-19, PTI quoted sources as saying. Patra is admitted to the Medanta hospital in Gurgaon, hospital sources said told PTI.
The BJP leader has shown symptoms of COVID-19, a source said.
Patra, with over 4.4 million followers on Twitter, is one among the foremost visible BJP faces on various TV news channels.
He is also very active on social media and posted several tweets on Thursday too.
Earlier, Maharashtra cabinet minister and senior Congress leader, Ashok Chavan, who has tested positive for the COVID-19, was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. He was the second cabinet minister after NCP leader Jitendra Awhad to come under the bout of the virus infection.
Chavan had attended some in Mumbai before traveling back to his home district in Marathwada.

Police received a jolt of sorts when 15 of their colleagues — 12 in Hyderabad and three in Cyberabad police commissionerate offices tested positive for COVID-19.
Hyderabad Commissioner Anjani Kumar confirmed that nine police personnel tested positive on Wednesday.
