Sankara Eye Hospital, Hyderabad marked its 3rd anniversary with a special celebration, reaffirming its commitment to eliminating needless blindness and expanding access to quality eye care.

Hyderabad, May 07, 2026: Sankara Eye Hospital, Hyderabad marked its 3rd anniversary with a special celebration, reaffirming its commitment to eliminating needless blindness and expanding access to quality eye care.

Over the past year, the hospital’s Outreach Department achieved a significant milestone by performing 11,953 free surgeries for underprivileged patients. In addition, 2,659 paying in-patient surgeries were successfully conducted, reflecting the hospital’s dual commitment to service and sustainability.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Chukkapalli Avinash, Director of Phoenix Group. Other distinguished attendees included G. Ramprasad, Dr. T. V. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Simakurthy Sriram, P. Srinivasa, Vasanth Kumar, and Bhukya Balaraju, along with doctors, staff, and volunteers of the hospital.

Addressing the gathering, dignitaries commended the hospital team for their unwavering dedication to delivering high-quality eye care services, particularly to rural and underserved communities across Telangana. The Outreach Department received special recognition for organizing large-scale screening camps and restoring vision for thousands of patients in need.

Adding to this, Dr. Simakurthy Sriram said, “At Sankara Eye Hospital, our mission goes beyond treatment—we aim to reach those who otherwise have limited or no access to eye care. The milestone of nearly 12,000 free surgeries reflects the tireless efforts of our outreach teams and our commitment to ensuring that quality vision care is accessible to all, irrespective of their socio-economic background.”

Speaking on the occasion, hospital representatives reiterated their mission to ensure that no individual is deprived of quality eye care due to financial constraints. This vision aligns with the broader goals of the Sankara Eye Foundation, which continues to drive initiatives aimed at eradicating preventable blindness.
