ShardaCare Healthcity, one of North India’s leading multispecialty hospitals, organized a community Walkathon a day ahead of World Heart Day to raise awareness about heart health.

Greater Noida, September 28, 2025: ShardaCare Healthcity, one of North India’s leading multispecialty hospitals, organized a community Walkathon a day ahead of World Heart Day to raise awareness about heart health. In line with this year’s global theme, “Don’t Skip a Beat”, the initiative aimed to highlight the importance of prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and regular check-ups in protecting heart health. The walkathon, hosted by renowned radio jockey RJ Rahul Makin, witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 1000+ people across all age groups – from school students to senior citizens. Covering a distance of 3 kms, the walk began at ShardaCare Healthcity and culminated at the cricket ground adjacent to ShardaCare Healthcity. The event was graced by Mr Y.K. Gupta, Vice Chairman, Sharda Hospital, Mr Sandeep Dogra, Group COO, ShardaCare Healthcity, Shri Kamlesh Bahadur Ji, IPS and Commandant, Police Line, Greater Noida; Ms Snehlata, Addl. S.P., Greater Noida and Shri Surinder Kumar, Deputy Commandant, BSF.

The event was also attended by leading experts Dr. Shiladitya Roy Choudhury, Director & Head – Cardiac Anaesthesia & Critical Care; Dr. Akhil Kumar Rustagi, Senior Director & HOD – Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery; Dr.Vivek Tandon, Director, Cardiology, ShardaCare Healthcity; Dr. Praveen Mishra, Associate Consultant – Department of Cardiology, ShardaCare Healthcity; Dr.Shubendu Mohanty, Director Cardiology, Sharda Hospital and Dr. Gautam Agarwal, Senior Consultant – Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery, ShardaCare Healthcity.

The walkathon was followed by an insightful ‘Doctors’ Talk’ and engaging fun activities, where RJ Rahul Makin captivated the audience with interactive heart-health games. As part of the initiative, participants availed discounted health services, including cardiac check-ups, health awareness camps, and expert consultations. The event also featured active participation and valuable insights from the hospital’s team of expert cardiologists, who guided attendees on preventive measures for heart health.
