Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the 25th edition of the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition – DUPHAT, the largest pharmaceutical event of its kind in the Middle East North Africa region, will be held from the 25th to the 27th of February, 2020 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

DUPHAT 2020 comes as the UAE and the wider MENA region is witnessing a huge spike in government spending on healthcare, which is expected to reach 144 billion dollars by the end of 2020, while the MENA regional drug market is projected to be worth 42 billion dollars by 2022. Additionally, the rise in the number of drug manufacturing units, increasing demand for patented and generic drugs owing to the needs of regional population and the ever-growing number of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer are driving the growth of the pharma industry in the region.

In its 25th edition, DUPHAT is expected to attract 33,000 visitors and participants from 75 countries including the USA, UK, India and other countries in the MENA region over the 3 days. In addition, the conference is set to witness the participation of 156 speakers who will offer their deep insights during 171 scientific sessions related to the top trending topics in the pharmaceutical industry. Moreover, the pharma event will include 840 poster presentations and 22 workshops to discuss the latest scientific research in pharmacy and also improve the awareness and understanding of the latest trends in the pharma industry.

This year, DUPHAT will also feature important discussions on a range of topics such as ‘Advances in Pharmacy Practice’, ‘Pharmaceutical Innovation’, ‘Next Gen Pharmacist’, ‘Management & Continuity of Pharmaceutical Care’, ‘Pharmacogenomics’, ‘Pharmacoepidemiology Perspectives’ and ‘Leadership & Critical Roles for Pharmacists’ to name a few.
