Vidyadhan Alumni and Students Successfully Host Third Annual Blood Donation Drive

The spirit of service and community engagement was on full display as the students and alumni of Vidyadhan, an initiative of the Shibulal Family Philanthropic Initiatives (SFPI), successfully hosted the third annual Blood Donation Drive.

Bangalore, July 16, 2025: The spirit of service and community engagement was on full display as the students and alumni of Vidyadhan, an initiative of the Shibulal Family Philanthropic Initiatives (SFPI), successfully hosted the third annual Blood Donation Drive.

Held at Innovations Investment Management Ltd, JP Nagar, the event saw enthusiastic participation from the Vidyadhan community and the public. A total of 90 people registered, and 69 units of blood were collected—a meaningful contribution toward saving lives.

Organized in collaboration with WISE NGO and the Lions Blood Centre, the initiative ensured that the collected blood units will reach individuals in urgent medical need. The drive was a seamless blend of planning, youthful energy, and a shared commitment to social responsibility, as demonstrated by the Vidyadhan alumni and students.

  • Prateek Madhav – Co-founder and CEO, AssisTech Foundation.

“Our alumni and students continue to lead by example,” said a representative from the Vidyadhan team. “Their commitment to giving back through acts like this blood donation drive embodies the very values that Vidyadhan stands for — compassion, leadership, and impact.”

This annual initiative continues to grow in reach and relevance, showcasing the power of youth-led philanthropy and collective action.


ABOUT VIDYADHAN AND SFPI

Vidyadhan, an SFPI initiative provides higher education scholarships to academically talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, across all 28 states in India to ensure completion of education and create career opportunities in diverse sectors including engineering, medicine and allied sectors. A distinctive feature of Vidyadhan is its 'pay-it-forward' model, encouraging alumni to support future scholars, creating a sustainable impact.

SFPI, established in 1998 by Kumari Shibulal and S D Shibulal, aids the under-privileged through multiple initiatives in the realms of education and healthcare and promotes the Indian classical legacy. It has many flagship programs that include Vidyadhan (scholarships), Ankur residential educational program for the under-privileged, Shikshalokam, an educational leadership platform aiming for systemic transformation of K-12 education by leveraging open-source technology, and Saathiya, a skilling and career-building initiative, specifically aimed at youth interested in careers in the hospitality sector among multiple others. Beginning small, SFPI has grown into a structured philanthropic endeavor to reach the vast Indian student population across 28 through strategic thinking, technology integration, and collaborative frameworks within SFPI.
