Chennai, June 14, 2025:  On a soulful evening filled with emotion, resilience, and heartfelt joy, VS Medical Trust today hosted its Cancer Survivors Meet 2025, bringing together over 200+ survivors and their families, each one a testament to courage, and a symbol of life reclaimed.

The event witnessed the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku by dignitaries including Mr. M. M. Murugappan, Former Chairman, Murugappa Group, Mr. K. R. Nagarajan, Founder Chairman, Ramraj Cotton, Mr. R. K. Selvamani, Film Director, and Mr. Mohana Sundaram, Speaker, who lent their presence not as guests, but as torchbearers of a noble cause.

From soul-stirring speeches by survivors, to the launch of the Vasantham Awards (honouring survivors who bloomed again), the evening was filled with meaning. The Heart of Gold Awards were presented to selfless supporters like Mr. Nagu Chidambaram and Mrs. Geetha Nagu,  VNCT Global, Mr. Thirupathi and Mrs. Kannaki Thirupathi, Emerald Tyres, Rtn. Ravi Sundaresan, IPP, Rotary Club of Madras, for standing by the Trust’s journey in silence but with strength.

The Pillar of Strength Awards honored the unsung heroes, attenders and caregivers who held hands through pain, and whose love made healing possible.

And as survivors walked the ramp with their doctors, smiles outshining scars, the entire auditorium rose in collective celebration of life. The entire team of Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Adult and Pediatric Hemato Oncologists, Pathologists, Intensivists, and Team VS took part in the celebrations to make this important event, a memorable one.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. S. Subramanian shared, “Cancer doesn’t just affect the body. It burdens the soul. But every survivor here proves one thing — when care is given with love and dignity, healing becomes a human right, not a privilege. That is the spirit of VS Medical Trust.”

VS Medical Trust, founded over two decades ago with a mission to serve beyond boundaries, VS Medical Trust continues to lead the way in affordable, accessible, and deeply personal cancer care. Through its screening programs, outreach initiatives, support for underprivileged patients, and now with the VS Wellness on Wheels, the Trust is not just treating illness, it’s rebuilding lives.

Because here, patients are not mere numbers. They are stories of hope, courage and kinship.
