Over 950 nurses across locations participate in a celebration of care, compassion, and clinical excellence

(Mumbai Central), May 12, 2026: Wockhardt Hospitals commemorated International Nurses Day with a week-long series of engagements across its facilities in Mira Road, Mumbai Central, Rajkot, and Nagpur, recognising the dedication, compassion, and clinical excellence of its nursing workforce. Marking the occasion, Wockhardt Hospitals also announced the launch of its Employee Assistance Program (EAP), aimed at fostering psychologically safe workplaces and strengthening employee well-being through structured support systems, including critical incident and stress management, along with ongoing awareness initiatives.

Aligned with the International Nurses Day 2026 theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” the initiative underscored the organisation’s focus on strengthening nursing capabilities through continuous learning, structured recognition, and a supportive work ecosystem.

More than 950 nurses participated in a range of thoughtfully designed activities aimed at fostering collaboration, encouraging innovation, and enhancing overall well-being.

The celebrations began with a unifying ceremony where nurses collectively sang the Wockhardt Anthem and reaffirmed their commitment through the Nursing Pledge—reflecting their shared responsibility towards patient-centric care. Senior nursing leaders were felicitated for their leadership and sustained contributions to clinical excellence.

The week-long programme featured multiple engagement-driven initiatives, including:
• Treasure Hunt to promote teamwork and problem-solving
• “My Patient, My Idea” Contest to encourage nurse led innovation to enhance patient care and      services
• Nursing Got Talent to showcase creativity beyond clinical roles
• Zumba Session to support physical and mental well-being
• Poster Making Competition centred on healthcare awareness centred on Nurses Day Theme 2026
• Cultural Event celebrating diversity and team spirit

These initiatives created a platform for nurses to engage beyond their routine responsibilities, strengthening team cohesion and reinforcing a culture of appreciation. Nurses marking long service milestones were also honoured with gold coins by hospital leadership, recognising their enduring contribution to patient care.

Ms. Zahabiya Khorakiwala, Managing Director, Wockhardt Hospitals, said: “At Wockhardt, our nurses are integral to delivering consistent, high-quality care. We remain committed to investing in their professional development through structured training, mentorship, and continuous learning opportunities, while also prioritising their overall well-being.”

Dr. Parag Rindani, CEO, Wockhardt Hospitals, stated: “The role of nurses extends far beyond clinical responsibilities—they are central to patient experience and outcomes. Their expertise, empathy, and resilience are critical to our healthcare delivery, and we continue to build systems that support their growth and recognise their contributions.”

Mr. Amiya Sahoo, Group CHRO, Wockhardt Hospitals, added: “The launch of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a significant step towards strengthening employee well-being across the organisation. By providing structured support for stress management, critical incident response, and ongoing awareness initiatives, we aim to create a psychologically safe environment where our healthcare professionals feel supported, resilient, and empowered to perform at their best.”

Mrs. Durga Vaidya, Nursing Head, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central shared: “Our nursing teams are at the forefront of patient care, consistently demonstrating clinical excellence, compassion, and resilience. It is essential to create an environment where they feel supported, valued, and empowered to contribute meaningfully to patient outcomes.”

Through this initiative, Wockhardt Hospitals reaffirmed its commitment to positioning nurses not only as caregivers, but as key contributors in advancing the future of healthcare delivery.
