Good lawyers make Judges’ work easy: Dr V.R.Badrinath Nandula, Judicial Member, NCLT-Hyd. We need quality lawyers: Dr V.R.Badrinanth Nandula

Hyderabad, December 02, 2023…. A Two-Day Program on "Resolution Plan (RP): Drafting, Negotiation, and Challenges" organized by FTCCI in collaboration with Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs(IICA) concluded at FTCCI Surana Auditorium, Red Hills, Hyderabad on Saturday.

Dr VR Badrinath Nandula, Judicial Member, National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Hyderabad, Meela Jayadev, President of FTCCI were chief guests; and Dr. Pyla Narayana Rao, Associate Professor, IICA, New Delhi; Suresh Singhal and Ravi Kumar, Vice Presidents of FTCCI;  Naresh Chandra Gelli, Ritesh Mittal, FTCCI Committee Chair and Co-chair graced at the closing ceremony.

Addressing the participants on a lighter note  Dr VR Badrinath Nandula said there are two types of judges —one who knows the law and the other who knows the Law Minister.

Unlike the popular perception that a judge’s job is easy, but, in reality, it is tough, as we need to create a fine balance. We can’t take sides. We give judgements according to the law and the facts and cases presented before us, he said.

However, Judges’ jobs can be made easier by a good lawyer by presenting his case well. When a lawyer presents the case, the listener, i.e. the judge must get clarity about the case. Clarity is the hallmark of good presentation, which is the basis for judgment, said Dr VR Badrinath Nandula.

He wished would-be lawyers to see them as practitioners before NCLT. Make a mark, he told them. We need quality lawyers. And you should fill the gap, he added
